This week Culver City, California will host Indiecade - the event's running from 23rd to 25th October and will be a celebration of download gaming in addition to giving small studios a chance to show off their work. With its 'Nindie' approach at the forefront Nintendo has confirmed the games for its own booth at the expo.
The following games will all be on show:
- Runbow
- FAST Racing NEO - due this year
- Hive Jump - due early 2016
- Shovel Knight
- Typoman - due Q4
- Electronic Super Joy - out in North America on 5th November
- Shantae: Half-Genie Hero - due this winter
- Tumblestone - due summer 2016
Some of the developers will also be on hand to talk about their games.
It's always pleasing to see Nintendo supporting eShop games; are you planning to check any of these out at Indiecade?

It's such a lovely day!
I'm not really an indie guy, but Nintendo has certainly come a long way since it's 40MB limit on Wiiware. Nice to see them have their own booth and promoting these games. I wonder if the Shovel Knight amiibo will put in an appearance? It can act as a trophy to show the other indies - yes you can do well on Wii U and be rewarded.
I wonder if Amazon will be there? Shovel Knight comes bundled with Fire TV Gamer edition along with Duck Tales Remastered.
@Spoony_Tech You typed that short message just to ninja my first post, didn't you?
But agreed, 3-0 equals great day.
@rjejr yep, I have espn so I knew you were typing a long message.
What's the game in the bottom-left of the article picture?
@TerrapinJess Hive jump.
@Spoony_Tech Well of course it's a lovely day. We are officially living in the future.
@Spoony_Tech But I always type long messages, you don't need ESPN for that, just basic cable. (You are now un-officially Pun_Master)
@Spoony_Tech Everyone has espn. I'm just not that into sports.
@rjejr - I'm glad to see your Mets up 3-0, mostly cause the Cubs fans won't let you drink your beer in peace at Wrigley. Also Cespedes was an awesome player for the Tigers for the half season he was here. Hopefully he gets a ring and comes back to Comerica Park and the Tigers
Very nice list of games to show off. Good luck to all the developers.
I'm still waiting on Insanity's Blade,it's been well over a year since we've heard anything. We even got a preview in May last year.

I'm very interested in Typoman, would love to see more on that/release date.
I think Nintendo should support indie games on the 3ds the release the New 3ds and give it no real support they just keep pushing the Wii U the New 3ds is a great handhold which could do with the push but I feel Nintendo are trying to kill it off before it even got started there are some great games that would be great on the 3ds if they gave it a push
@OorWullie The company is 2 guys, they're working on DLC for Insanity's Blade for Steam etc, they're working on new games... You might have to wait long for a WiiU release...
I've met the person that made Tumblestone in real life.
@Captain_Gonru It's a requirement for every baseball game these days, something stupid that makes people yell. Between vulgarities I was shouting things like - "It's 2015, buy a freakin hedge trimmer, it's a baseball stadium, not a rose garden." But at least nobody got their leg broken, and the karma gods allowed the strike-out passed ball run to score, so it balanced out. Hopefully they close i tout tonight, I coudl really use some sleep, I'm about 18 hours short over the past few weeks.
@Captain_Gonru Demos have always been a sore point with me. So many on the in store Wii U kiosks that don't make it to homes. And several multiplat games that have gotten demos on PS3 but not Wii U, so I know the game has a demo.
I do understand the logic that bad demos scare off people from buying bad games, so maybe they don't want to release them too early, but if the game has already been out for 2 weeks you have all the initial sales, put out a demo then for people still on the fence, before the next game comes out and people forget all about yours. I've almost completely forgotten about Swords & Soldiers 2. If I had a demo app on my screen maybe I'd think about it more. Or Lego City Undercover. How many sales do they lose w/ a LCU demo now? That's just free advertising.
Shovel Knight should have a demo. Maybe they can unlock it w/ the amiibo?
@Captain_Gonru Man, glad to have emails this morning, the news was slower than usual, even for Ntinedo. I had to comment on the GH Live article just to kill time before driving my son to school. Bor-ring.
@Captain_Gonru I couldn't agree more. On other systems I have bought games that I might have not bought after trying the demo. There have been games that I knew I was going to buy and tried the demo and I still bought them. The worst feeling is buying a game your unsure of and it being something you don't enjoy. It makes you way more hesitant to purchase that next game without trying it out first. Xbox does a great job having tons of demos for their indie games, and I think it works out. If you at least get the game in peoples hands it is surprising how that can influence them to pick up a game they might have not bought without trying it.
I'm ready for some Fast Racing Neo! Hive Jump looks interesting as well.
