It's taken a little while - and the Major League Soccer season is still a couple of months away - but EnjoyUp Games has now confirmed a North American release date for Soccer Up Online, which is Football Up Online in Europe. It'll arrive in this week's update (15th January) with a price tag of $3.99.
Although sold separately from Soccer Up 3D, there are obvious overlaps with this new release. Alongside tweaks to gameplay the main addition is online multiplayer, expanding on the local-only original - unfortunately we weren't fans in our Football Up Online review, being unimpressed with the gameplay and laggy performance of the online component.
Let us know whether you're tempted to give this a shot, in any case, while below is a freshly released trailer.

I will buy this for -$1.00
@ikki5 Funny enough, I picked it up for 89p. XD Don't worry, this one will be a regular Deal of the Week game, trust me.
@Angelic_Lapras_King
I don't think you get it, they will need to pay me a dollar for me to get it.
@ikki5 Well that's easy, sell your 3DS once the online shop and servers are shut down in 10 or so years. All your downloads will add profit to your final sale price. XD
@ikki5 The correct Robocop quote is 'I'll buy that for a dollar'
@Lord But @ikki5 doesn't want it unless he get paid a dollar xD
Well, I was interested until I saw it was on the 3DS. The Wii U is so badly starved for Sports titles, that I would be willing to give this a try.
@Darknyht i guess you can hold your breath for madmen football
@faint I really wish Nintendo would have gone after Super Mega Baseball. I also wish they would have paid Sega to bring Football Manager 2015, along with Alien: Isolation, Castle of Illusion, After Burner Climax, and the Sega Classic Series games to Wii U instead of Sonic Boom and Sonic Lost World.
